Data deletion
Last updated: 29 September 2026
This page explains how a clinic or a patient requests deletion of their data from Doctal, a product owned and operated by TAIF - Marketing Agency — طيف للتسويق الالكتروني, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. There is no charge, and you do not have to give a reason.
How to request deletion
Use either channel below, and include enough detail for us to identify the data to be deleted:
If you are a patient of a clinic that uses Doctal
- The name of the clinic you have been messaging.
- The WhatsApp number you message the clinic from — this is how we find your records.
- That the request is for deletion (not simply to stop receiving messages).
You may also send the request to the clinic itself. The clinic holds the relationship with you and has the ability to delete your data inside the system. Either route results in the same deletion.
If you are a subscribing clinic
- The clinic name and the official WhatsApp number connected to the system.
- A request from the account owner, or from an email address on record, so we can confirm who is asking.
- Which it is: deletion of the whole account, or deletion of one patient's data.
Before a full deletion: if you want a copy of your clinic's data — conversations, contacts and appointments — ask for it in the same message and we will provide it before carrying out the deletion. Deletion cannot be undone.
What is deleted
On a patient's request
- Her record in the system: name and WhatsApp number or conversation identifier.
- The entire conversation, with every message and any attached photos, voice notes and documents.
- Her appointments, session packages and any deposits recorded against them.
- Notes and qualification fields written about her by clinic staff.
Nothing then remains in the system through which she can be identified or reached. What may remain are aggregate totals in the clinic's reports, which point to no individual.
On a clinic's request to delete its account
- All conversations, messages and attachments.
- All contacts, appointments, branches, doctors, services and packages.
- The AI agent's knowledge base and configuration.
- Staff accounts and their activity records.
- The WhatsApp connection: the number is disconnected and the stored access token is destroyed, so nothing remains with us that could send in the clinic's name.
We may retain a minimum of accounting records relating to the subscription where the law requires it. Those contain no conversation content and no patient data.
Timeframe
| Stage | Timeframe |
|---|---|
| Acknowledgement of the request | Within 2 business days |
| Deletion from live systems | Within 7 days |
| Deletion from backups | Within 30 days at the latest |
| Confirmation that deletion is complete | On the channel the request came in on |
What Doctal cannot delete
It is only fair to be clear about this before you ask:
- The copy on your phone: deleting data from Doctal does not touch the conversation in the WhatsApp app on your own phone. You delete that yourself, in the app.
- What Meta holds: WhatsApp messages pass through Meta, and what Meta retains and how it is deleted are governed by Meta's own policies. See the WhatsApp privacy policy.
- Anything the clinic copied out of the system: if a member of staff wrote something into a notebook or a file outside Doctal, that is beyond what we can delete. Address that request to the clinic.
If you only want the messages to stop
If you want the clinic's messages to stop without deleting your history with it — because you have an appointment coming up, for instance — simply tell the clinic, or block its number in WhatsApp, which stops its messages reaching you immediately.
